Transparency is the only way this site works. Below is exactly how we make money and how we don't.

We are independent

Unclaimed.Money is privately operated and is not affiliated with any US state treasurer, the National Association of Unclaimed Property Administrators (NAUPA), MissingMoney.com, or any government agency.

We never charge you to search

Searching for and claiming your own unclaimed property through any state treasurer's office is free. We never charge a fee for our directory, our guides, or the outbound links to state portals.

How we earn revenue

• Carefully chosen affiliate partnerships with financial services (tax preparation, credit monitoring, financial planning) that may genuinely help someone who has just recovered unclaimed money. When you click certain outbound links to these services and sign up, we receive a commission. This does not affect the price you pay.
• Contextual display advertising on some pages. We do not run intrusive ads. We do not run ads that impersonate government notices.

What we will not do

• We do not promote, refer to, or partner with third-party recovery firms.
• We do not sell user data.
• We do not send letters, emails, or texts claiming we have located money for you. Any communication claiming otherwise is not from us.
